Harnessing Weighty Waves and Tides!

An idea I had for creating an alternative energy resource was in harnessing the great "weights" of water in ocean waves and tides. For instance in areas with very high ocean tides, the huge volume of seawater brought in by these tides presses downwards with tremendous weight on the shore and bay areas. This immense water weight could be harnessed to press down on a large bubble or pocket filled with water, oil or air etc. - the process of pressing down on (or squeezing) this pocket or bag of liquid or air, would force the contents of this bag out of one end at a very high pressure, and this high pressure could be used to turn the blades of a turbine/generator etc. - and so make electricity!
As far as the construction overview for this project,I could see construction of something like a very large barge or barges on stilts or footings, which the incoming tidal water would fill up (like a swimming pool) and then when the tide has receded, the barge or pool of water is released, for a vertical descent, and as its weight settles on the enclosed pocket or bag of liquid/air,thats built into the sea bed,the process of squeezing out and then harnessing the high pressure liquid/air would begin.
Another related idea is to construct a similiar device to harness the energy of ocean waves where they crash on the shore. This device would be a long air filled tube or bag that would work like a siphon hose bulb. The crashing wave would fall on the tube/bag forcing out its air at one end to be used as high air pressure to turn a turbine. The tube/bag would self inflate (like a ubber bulb) between waves and this new air would be squeezed out,by the next wave,to turn the turbine again.
