Super Joule Ringer! Part 2
what is the name of ...
what is the name of that car? and I like this idea but that noise is terrible!
Hey lasersaber, I ...
Hey lasersaber, I like your videos. Your set is impressive. Have you thought of putting some white wall panels in your shed? The white would really brighten up your work area.
Question: The ...
Question: The jewel ringer runs the lights better then the inverter, but when you need a big amp draw such as the drill press you need the regular inverter?
You really are a ...
You really are a fascinating person, I live in the UK and want to fit a solar system. Good job I like electronics as i will try your circuits! Here in the UK solar panels are amazingly expensive. My aim is to run all the house lights from batteries, then maybe a PC and TV or radio etc. It's the way to go now.
What Lasersaber has ...
What Lasersaber has made is a Invertor that is desgined to deal with low wattage applications. This type of invertor is known as a Joule Thief shown here watch?v=0GVLnyTdqkg So people this circuit does work and it's safe. before someone asks why do invertors from shop will not work well with low current? Simple they have many transistors or F.E.T's and coils for filter. Lasersaber cut all that stuff out as its not needed on lights, no need for filter, no need for many Transistors. Job well done
wow there is 3 ...
wow there is 3 people that agree with you unreal, first off i am an Electrical Engineer, a normal Invertor that you would get from the shop are not designed to deal with low wattage. Example a 300watt invertor with a 1 watt load would be dispating allot more wattage then its using. Please read the info that come invertor!!!, the noise he is getting is from the transformer is vibration of the copper, yes noise from transformer is some loss but not as much as you think Solution watch?v=tUO3o5JTGhQ

I have a 30X48 foot ...
I have a 30X48 foot dome building I would like to be able to power off the grid like your building. Eventually making it my workshop. I was going to hook it up to my house electric, but I was afraid they would make me send a new service to the building. What would I need to bring a 200 amp service using off the grid materials?
Hi have you got an ...
Hi have you got an email address? I have an outside building that I would like to take off the grid. If you don't mind I would like to communicate with you on the system you have there. I am a mechanical guy but would really like to explore what you are doing in your shed. By the way, cool vid...

Sell me one! I'd love to buy one. Just contact me through my page and let me know what it will cost.In my case I would like it set up for 12V system.I have no electrical aptitude.I'm an artist not a scientist kind of guy. Look forward to hearing from you.

Yes have fun, agreed
dip it in epoxy, it ...
dip it in epoxy, it will stop the vibrations / noise from the copper wire and increase power
I don't doubt that ...
I don't doubt that will work up to a point as it gives flux for the field collapse to kick off of, but refining the toroid coil would be best. once you hit the wall there, then add the magnets.
I don't know ...
I don't know whether you have got a reply, but from my experience that can be done. The noise comes from the windings vibrating, stop the vibration and you stop most of the noise, it should also improve efficiency by a few percent too as the vibration causes some energy loss.
could you use a ...
could you use a Marko Rodin Coil with this setup?
Add more magnets. ...
Add more magnets. Might increase the brightness of the lights... Trust me.

now i really need ...
now i really need an aspirin man... how can you work with that fucking noise in the head all the time, it is insuportable, or maybe are you death a bit ?
Thanks for the ...
Thanks for the awesome video. Any way you could supply a model number and source for the toroid and the awg on the magnet wire? I appreciate the help!
Do you have a ...
Do you have a filter cap before the ringer, or you are just using the pulsed signal trough the Ampmeter? If you don't have a filter cap you'd get much less amps displayed than are realy drawn by the circuit... Anyways it is a resonance type circuit so it is much more efficient than the push-pull converters.
Pretty cool man, ...
Pretty cool man, the sound would drive me nuts, I would have to have the thing in a box outside so I would not hear that constant ringing. Or make a sound proof box and keep it inside. take no offense, you must have really have had the sound grow on you if you can listen to it and work, it may be your recording system is amplifying the sound so it sound pretty loud to us.
HEY CHECK OUT THE ...
HEY CHECK OUT THE DIM LIGHTING IN MY SHED, WHATS THAT NOISE YOU SAY? PAY NO ATTENTION TO THAT IT'S NOTHING.
