50MA Stirling mini generator, heat test.
Duration: 4:54
I put a small mount on one of the flange nuts and centered a motor in the flywheel to tap power off it's movement. The insulating commpound flange is limiting heat transfer to body of motor but I am cutting 1/2" flanges in honeycomb ceramic to test this weekend. The ceramic flange should act as a fire brick wall blocking the contact heat of stainless base. I will have to test it's load ability for tightening flange nuts. I was impressed until my pressure clip holding motor came off, I was adjusting the friction point of the dc motor shaft. The motor is capable of running at these temps 1200 hs - 200 cs for over 2 hours. I have almost completed the parts for the new cam design which incorporates npt threading for flywheel so it will not back off under high load and a shaft to a second motor can be added if required for better output. This is a blueprinted motor and scalable to 10" across. Hope to have a kit available by summer, this could be the first comercial stirling consumer generator if I can design an alternator capable of 5-10x this output. I am experimenting so that I know this motor is durable and not going to break the minute you push it.
