Russia May Build Power Plants for Iran

On Wednesday, Russian Energy Minister Igor Yusufov met Mohammad Foruzande, Head of the Mostazafan Iran Fund, Iran's largest economic structure. They discussed participation of Russian companies in this country's industrial projects.

Iran suggested that Russia should participate in the construction and modernisation of thermoelectric power stations, the building of power plants using gas fuel, as well as drilling work on oil and gas fields, including Iran's biggest gas field Pars, the Energy Ministry pointed out.

The sides also agreed to set up a special working group to hold detailed negotiations in the near future.

They also touched upon Russian oil and mineral oil deliveries to Iran's northern regions.
